CAKE SMASH AND SPLASH SESSIONS ARE A GREAT WAY TO CELEBRATE FIRST BIRTHDAYS.
Cake smash & splash sessions are fun for babies and provide a unique opportunity to capture their curiosity and personality at this young age. They are a perfect way to celebrate turning one and have some lovely photos of them to treasure forever.
What is the cake smash photography?
The session is like a sensory play, but rather than letting them play with paint, sand or play dough, they are free to explore a delicious birthday cake and enjoy splashing in the milk bath.
I love seeing how each baby reacts to the cake – for some, it is the first time they taste it. They either dive straight in, touch it slowly to explore the new texture or play with it before they decide to have a try. But what is important that this new experience let me capture all those facial expressions, smiles and little details of them in a calm and relaxed way.
What are Little Creative Photography cake smash sessions like?
I like to start the session with some family photographs which are done on my studio bed. This gives the baby a chance to get used to a new place and for me to capture those natural and relaxed images of the whole family. I also encourage sibling/s to take part in the session.
There is also time for some play time. There are lots of wooden toys in the studio that your baby can play with and we do a few bubbles which tend to be popular with the little ones.
After the play time, we bring out the beautiful birthday cake, which is made by the talented Lauren from The Cupcake Bar in Ampthill.
To finish the session, your little one will enjoy a milk bath in a little tub to wash off the mess while having fun splashing.
What to expect at your cake smash photography session?
The cake smash & splash session usually lasts between 1-1.5 hours and I go at your baby's speed. The studio and the bespoke cake are decorated with flowers, eucalyptus leaves or fruit such as lemons, strawberries, etc. I provide some tips on outfit choices to make the most of the studio set up and your photographs. In my studio, there is also a lovely selection of outfits for little ones to choose from for each part of the session (family photographs and cake smash).
Where are your cake smash photography sessions held?
My cake smash photography sessions are held at the Little Creative Photography studio in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. The studio is located within a short drive from Ampthill, Woburn, Hitchin, Milton Keynes, and Tring.
