Is it too late to book a Newborn Photographer in Harpenden?
The first weeks with your baby have a strange relationship with time. At three in the morning, they can feel endless. Yet somehow, between feeds, visitors and learning an entirely new way of living, your baby is already changing.
Perhaps you meant to arrange newborn photographs before the birth but never quite got around to it. Or perhaps your baby arrived earlier than expected, recovery took longer, or booking a photoshoot simply wasn’t something you could think about until now.
If your baby is already here, you may be wondering: have I left it too late?
The answer is: not necessarily.
You haven’t missed the moment
Newborn sessions are often booked during pregnancy, but real life does not always follow a carefully organised plan. I sometimes have last-minute availability at my newborn photography studio in North Harpenden.
Even if your baby is no longer in the very earliest days, there are still beautiful details worth preserving - the way they curl against you, their tiny feet, the expressions they make in their sleep and the scale of their body in your hands.
The photographs may look slightly different as your baby becomes more alert, but different does not mean less meaningful.
A calm experience for new parents
You do not need to arrive feeling rested, organised or “camera-ready.” You have just had a baby.
Sessions take place in my cosy North Harpenden studio and usually last between two and three hours. There is time for feeding, changing and settling your baby, without expecting them to follow a schedule.
You can be included in the photographs as much or as little as you wish. Many first-time mums feel unsure about being photographed so soon after giving birth, but these do not need to be formal portraits. A baby resting against your chest or being held securely in your arms can become one of the most important photographs from the session.
Your baby will one day want to see not only how tiny they were, but how they were held and loved.
